About Us
The Vicar: Revd Arthur Botham
Hello, my name is Arthur, and it has been my privilege and pleasure to have been Vicar of St. Gabriel’s since 2005.
During my time here I have forged links with other groups of churches in Basingstoke. I am particularly concerned to bring Jesus into the lives of the people living in Popley, Limes Park and Rooksdown
Licensed Lay Minister: Mr. Ian Coster
Hello, my name is Ian Coster. In 2006 I was licensed as a Lay Minister to the Odiham Deanery. My home church is St. John’s, Hartley Wintney, where Arthur was curate for three years.
In 2010 I received an additional license to serve in the Basingstoke Deanery, which means I can help Arthur and his team at St Gabriel’s with leading services and preaching, something I really enjoy and look forward to.
I would thoroughly recommend St Gabriel’s to you; it’s a growing community and a place where you will receive a very warm welcome and friendly smile. I hope to see you there one Sunday.
Churchwardens:
Mrs. Marion Davies
Mr. Kelvin Lewington

There are also responsibilities in connection with the Sunday services and for keeping order in the church. We have a duty to make sure that the clergy can conduct their services and other meetings without hindrance. This requires that any visitors or newcomers are welcomed and assisted.
We are also on hand to welcome guest preachers, the Archdeacon or Bishop when they visit, and offer any help as needed.
We are privileged to be elected and to serve as your Churchwardens.
Blessings in Christ
Marion and Kelvin
Verger
Mrs. Mary Herbert

Hello, I’m Mary, Verger here at St, Gabriel’s
My role as Verger is to make sure that everything is in place for Services, especially Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals. When there are special services, such as Weddings and Funerals, but also special Sunday Services then the Verger leads the processions.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time
