Buildings Project Update

We are very pleased to be able to update you with progress on our project.

It may have seemed as though not much has been happening lately. However, there has been plenty of activity in the background! We have had many emails and meetings with all the relevant parties; Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, our architects Studio4, the Diocese and finally our chosen contractor RV Dart. These have all been a necessary part of the planning and preparation for the work starting.

The good news is that you can now expect to see RV Dart here on site from

Monday 10th July!

It is very important for us to be able to continue all the activities that go in in the church and hall during the building works, so the phasing – the order of the works – of the project has changed. The building work will begin with the new meeting rooms and toilets, and once they are complete work will start on the hall extension. This means we will have a meeting space available for us and our hirers throughout the project.

A corridor from the foyer to the new meeting rooms and toilets will be built by knocking through the gent’s toilets. This means that at some stage – and as a temporary measure – we will have only one toilet, the ladies, which we will have to share (we will be able to lock the main door!)

The contractors will be using the car park for their equipment, and therefore access to the car park will be very much restricted during the build. We ask that you make other arrangements to get here wherever possible.

Fundraising and grant applications are still ongoing, and we would love you to pray for us on a regular basis.  Being involved and supporting Project G offers you the opportunity to be part of something that God is doing here among us and we cannot do what we believe God is calling us to do without your incredible support, so please consider supporting us financially!

Thank you for your patience, your co-operation and your support throughout this project.

May you be blessed richly in all you do.

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.”

Matthew 7:24-25
