Children’s Church at St. Gabriel’s

Our next Children’s Church is Sunday 12th January
Join John in The Bill Ind Room.

This week, weather permitting, we are planning to plant some
spring bulbs in the church garden.

It might get messy, so wear old clothes and bring your wellies!

This year the children have chosen to support the
Basingstoke Young Carers
for their charity fundraising.

They started by making some fabulous Christmas Decorations
which they sold at our Christmas Fair.

They raised an amazing £70!!!

Well done!

Every Sunday, apart from the last one of the month, our 4-9 year olds take part in our Children’s Church; an informal craft and fun session where our younger children can learn about and explore God and Christianity in a relaxed way.

We cover a wide range of subjects, often following the readings of a particular Sunday. We have also worked on some extra studies about Saints Days, and wider subjects in the religious calendar. Sometimes we make up little plays, performances and prayers, which the children really enjoy performing for the congregation at the end of service.

Our children have shown their artistic sides with their many wonderful craft creations, and take great pleasure in displaying their handiworks to the congregation at the end of the service. We all especially like to get messy with glue and glitter, and to make sure that Arthur shares in the mess too!

Our young children learn so much through expressing themselves in a creative way, and we all have a lot of fun!

With Jesus, the ordinary can be made extraordinary!
